Introduction of School of Electrical Engineering Shandong University
The Discipline of Electrical Engineering of Shandong University was initially founded in 1946, which has over 72 years. The history can be tracked back to Electrical Machine Engineering Department of Shandong University founded in 1946 and Electrical Machine Engineering Department of Shandong College of Technology founded in 1949. With a glorious history, the school has a host of well-known scholars and professors, such as Hongpan Shao, Boyuan Hou, Songrao Hu and so on, who have served as teachers. During the past 70 years, the school has cultivated talents at all kinds of levels, covering different fields of electric engineering at home and abroad. A large number of outstanding graduates have made significant contributions to the development of Power Industry in China, represented by Dazhen Shi (the former minister of Electricity), Zhenya Liu (the former Chairman of the State Grid, currently chairman of the Global Energy Internet Development Cooperation Organization, and academician of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences), Yusheng Xue (the academician of China Academy of Engineering), Jiancheng Fang (the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences), Qingkui Li (the chairman of the Southern Grid), and Peixi Cao (the chairman of the China Huaneng Group).
The school is granted for electrical engineering Ph. D degree and post-doctoral studies, forming a comprehensive education system including bachelor, master and Ph. D of engineering, which focuses on electrical engineering discipline as well as combines with some related disciplines, such as control engineering, computer science. The school is in possession of five complete secondary disciplines: Power System and Automation (National Key Cultivation Disciplines), Electrical Machinery and Electrical Appliances (Shandong Key Disciplines), Power Electronics and Power Drives, High Voltage and Insulation Technology, Electrical Theory and New Technology. “Electrical Engineering and Automation” is the first category of special construction majors in China and specialties in Shandong Province. It is the first implementation unit of the “Excellent Engineer Training Plan”.
目前，學院在校本科生近1300人，全日制碩士研究生560余人，博士生70余人。擁有“電網智能化調度與控制”教育部重點實驗室，“電動汽車電網接入技術”國家地方聯合工程實驗室， “電力電子節能技術與裝備” 教育部工程研究中心，“全球能源互聯網”山東協同創新中心，“特高壓輸變電技術與裝備”山東省重點實驗室，“電動汽車”山東省工程實驗室，“永磁電機”、“磁力分選”、“磁懸浮軸承”和“電能質量優化設計”四個山東省工程技術中心，“電工電子實驗教學”山東省實驗教學示范中心，并與“中國華電集團”、“國家核電技術公司”共建了兩個國家級工程教育實踐中心。最近，學院承擔著由山東大學和國網山東電力公司共同發起組建的“全球能源互聯網（山東）協同創新中心”建設任務。
At present, the school has about 1,300 undergraduates, 560 full-time postgraduate students and 70 doctoral students. The school has the key laboratory of the ministry of education "intelligent dispatch and control", the national local joint engineering laboratory "the technology of electric vehicle integration to power systems", the engineering research center of ministry of education "power electronic energy saving technology and equipment", "global energy interconnection" collaborative innovation center of Shandong, the key laboratory of Shandong province "UHV transmission and transformation technology and equipment ","electric vehicle" engineering laboratory of Shandong province, four engineering technology center of Shandong province as" permanent magnetic motor "， "magnetic separation", "magnetic levitation bearing" and "power quality optimization design", the experimental teaching demonstration center of Shandong province "electrical and electronic experimental education". Besides, the school has established two national practice education centers with China Huadian Corporation and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation. Recently, the school has undertaken the construction task of "global energy interconnection (Shandong) collaborative innovation center", which is jointly initiated by Shandong University and State Grid Shandong electric power company.
學院現有教職工137人，其中專任教師102人，具有博士學位81人，教授35人，副高級職稱60人，博士生導師35人。學科現有兼職院士4人，IEEE Fellow 3人，海外兼職講座教授11人；千人計劃專家3人，長江學者特聘教授1人，長江學者講座教授1人，泰山學者特聘專家教授3人，青年千人1人，優青1人，國家“百、千、萬人才工程”學者2人，教育部新世紀優秀人才2人，省級有突出貢獻中青年專家4人，享受國務院政府特殊津貼5人。特別是近四年來學院青年人才儲備快速增加，40歲及以下專任青年教師39位，全部具有博士學位，其中5人具有海外高水平大學博士學位，全部具有海外高水平大學博士后或訪問學者工作經歷。
Our faculty includes 137 full-time staffs, with 102 academic staffs, 81 doctorates, 35 professors, 60 associate professors, and 35 doctoral supervisors. There are 4 part-time academicians in the discipline, 3 IEEE Fellow, 11 overseas part-time lecture professors; 3 Thousand Talents Plan experts, 1 Chang-Jiang Scholar distinguished visiting professor, 1 Chang-Jiang Scholar professor, 3 “Tai-Shan Scholar” Distinguished Professor, 1 Thousand Talents Plan of young talents, 1 Excellent Young Teachers Program of MOE of China, 2 Hundred, thousand, million Talent Project professor, 2 New Century Excellent Talents of Ministry of Education, 4 Provincial Young Experts with outstanding contributions, 5 Specialists with the special government allowance granted by the state council. In particular, during the past four years, the college's youth talent reserve has increased remarkably. There are 39 full-time young teachers aged 40 and below, all of whom have doctoral degrees. Among them, 5 have overseas high-level university doctoral degrees, and all of them have overseas high-level university postdoctoral or visiting scholar work experience.
The discipline attaches great importance to the research of basic theory, the development of advanced technology and the transformation of its application results, and has achieved fruitful results. In recent years, it has won more than 600 national natural science foundation, "863" program and military projects. It has published 6 monographs and over 1500 papers, among which over 1200 were included in SCI/EI. It has won 1 national science and technology progress award, more than 10 provincial and ministerial awards; Over 150 authorized invention patents; The outstanding achievements in scientific and technological transformation has made significant contributions to national and local economic development and social progress. In May 2018, it took the lead in setting up the "global energy interconnection" innovative engineering class in China. The school has established good cooperation and exchange relationship with many famous universities in the world such as United States, Britain, France and Australia and jointly train doctoral students with them.
